Awais Ikram is Doctoral Researcher at K7 Department of Nanostructured Materials at Jozef Stefan Institute Slovenia. As Early Stage Researcher in MSCA-ETN Project DEMETER, his work confines to exploratory work of sintered Nd-Fe-B and Sm-Co nanostructured/powdered magnets. He graduated with BSc. Materials Science & Engineering (2011) and MS Nanotechnology & Materials Engineering (2015), both from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Pakistan (GIKI). During his tenure as Research Fellow at GIKI, he pioneered as Team Leader, the Nanomaterial Fabrication Group at Faculty of Materials Science & Engineering. In short span of 2 years, projects relevant to fabrication diverse nanostructures like Graphene/GO, CNTs by Arc Discharge, Superhydrophobic Coatings, Photocatalytic Titanium Dioxide and Titanate Nanotubes, Nanowires & Nanorods, Bulk Amorphous Alloys (Ti, Fe, Cu), Mechanically Alloyed Nanocomposites, Nanoinks (Cu, Fe, C), Nanocomposites Thin Films via Electrolytic Method, Anodic Alumina Templates and Sol Gel synthesis of nanoceramics. He also served as Lab Instructor to demonstrate experiments relating to subjects: Nanotechnology, Powder Metallurgy, Characterization of Materials, Composites and Surface Engineering. He holds affinity to frontier research areas like Novel Nanomaterials Synthesis & Characterization, Advanced Nanocomposites, Energy Nanomaterials, Functional Thin Films, Flexible Electronics and Printed Devices.
